Ramadhan is by far one of the most exciting times of the year. The month is not only filled with wonderful blessings, but also ibadat, get togethers, delicious food, and of course exciting arts and crafts!
One craft that I love doing every Ramadhan is the "Ramadhan Chain." The chain consists of 30 links, one for each day of Ramadhan. Everyday, your little one can gently rip off one link of the chain. As days go by, your child will start to see the chain getting shorter and shorter. It is a great way to also build up the Eid excitement in children!
This chain is very simple and children love putting it together. While this is a very simple activity, it serves as a great way for your child to practice fine motor skills (cutting, pasting, gluing), patterns, numbers, and even writing! It can also serve as a great decoration to go along with the rest of your Ramadhan decor! :)

Cut strips construction paper to make your links. I suggest cutting along the long edge of the paper. In this way, your actual loops will be big and the chain will fall very nicely. If you have multiple children, you can give a few strips to each child and have him/her decorate using crayons and/or markers. You can even use white paper for this activity.
Please don't judge my strips, I am not very good at cutting in a straight line :-P But who cares about perfection when you're having fun?! :)
Once you have cut your strips, you can start putting your chain together. You can either staple, glue, or tape the links together. Stapling is the quickest way to put this together, but gluing and taping also work too :)
And before you know it, this is what you'll end up with:
